how does the air bags AL57388 ride at 5 psi when unhooked from a trailer?

Expert Reply:
As far as the ride quality when using the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 # AL57388 at 5 psi with no trailer attached, the jounce springs inside of the air bags will not engage at the same firmness/intensity as when they are inflated at a higher psi. At 5 psi, most neighbors report that they do not even realize they have air bags installed. However, you can always customize the amount of psi you have in your air bags to get the desired firmness/support you want (up to 100 psi). The reason why you should not go lower than 5 psi is because this can cause deforming of the air bags.
If you want greater customization of the # AL57388 on your 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500, I recommend an air compressor like the Air Lift Load Controller I Compressor System for Air Helper Springs # AL25651 or the wireless Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System for Air Helper Springs # AL74000. Both of these systems are dual-path which means you will have the ability to control each air bag independently from the ease and comfort from your cab. Also, in addition to the Bluetooth capability of the WirelessAIR, it provides you with continuous diagnostic reports to ensure that the air bags are working safely and efficiently.
If you need help with installing any of these components, I went ahead and linked installation videos that walk you through the process.
