Question:

Can I install the etrailer or any other hitch on my 2022 Pilot and still use the tailgate sensor functions? I need the ability to tow a small trailer but I'd still like for the sensors to work.

I have the perfect solution for you with the etrailer Trailer Hitch # e98840. This will still allow you to utilize the liftgate sensors on your 2022 Honda Pilot but you may need to kick to either side of the hitch receiver instead of just swiping your foot under the bumper. We actually have a review about the sensors which I'm attaching for you to check out.

For wiring I recommend using the Tekonsha T-One which is the most reliable wiring option we have. You can use the T-One # 118760 with bracket # 18144 for a 4-Way or the T-One # 118286 with bracket # PK12711U for a 7-Way.

Then to round out your towing setup I recommend picking up the Ball Mount Kit # 989891.
