Which two holes typically will need the shim washers?

The 1/4" flat washers that come with the Replacement Gear Box and A Linkage # LC379160 are used to shim the permanent magnet motor assembly away from the step top so the motor assembly will sit level. This is not needed on all steps and may be used on a different side based on the exact series, model and year your steps were made. I hate to say that there is not one side or series of steps that they must be used on typically.
