Question:
Need to replace my tandem axle trailer fenders, a 1996 PJ 18 ft car trailer. I measured the fenders with a straight edge from the top to the lower lip at 20 inches tall, the width at 9.375 with a straight edge across the front and 75 inches in length from the leading front edge to the rear. How do you measure to find a fender that eventually will fit? Help!

It sounds like you have good measurements for your current fenders that will help to narrow down with the fenders we have available. I do recommend checking the clearances on your current fenders to ensure that the new fenders will still have sufficient amount of clearance.
With your measurements that will narrow down what we have that will fit. All these fenders are 72" long which may be due to different curves on your fender that makes it longer. These are all designed to fit most tandem axle trailers with 15" or 16" wheels and tires.
Fender # HP74VR -10-3/4" Wide x 72" long x 20-1/2" tall
Fender # HP84VR -10-3/4" Wide x 72" long x 20-1/2" tall
Fender # HP24VR -9" Wide x 72" long x 20-1/2" tall
Fender # HP57VR -9" Wide x 72" long x 20-1/2" tall
The first 2 fenders are nearly the same height and wider than your current fenders. This will ensure that you have enough width for your tires to not rub on the fenders. I like to see at least 1" clearance on the tire side walls since the tires can deflect when maneuvering. Around the tire face I prefer 3" of clearance to help clear any road debris that may become between the tires and fenders as well as to provide suspension clearance.
