I would be happy to help you set up your new 2022 Kia Telluride for towing. I checked the owners manual all models of the 2022 Telluride have a 5,000 lbs towing capacity but that requires your trailer to have brakes or the capacity drops to 1,600 lbs. You are going to need a receiver hitch, a couple of wiring harnesses, a ball mount and ball, and a brake controller to be able to tow your travel trailer safely and not exceed your vehicles capacity.

I recommend the etrailer Hitch item # e95ZR. It has a maximum gross trailer weight of 5,000 lbs and a maximum tongue weight of 500 lbs. This hitch receiver has been specifically designed for your Kia and will bolt directly to the frame with the included hardware.

You're going to need two wiring harnesses to be able to control your trailer's brakes. The first one you will need is the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # CU94FR. This will give you a 4-flat vehicle connector. The wiring harness plugs in at the rear of your vehicle into an OEM port that requires no cutting or splicing.

The second harness you will need is the Universal Installation Kit item # ETBC7. The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your vehicle with an included bracket. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it.

To round out your towing setup I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" Ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop. It also includes a hitch pin and clip, hitch receiver lock with keys, hitch cover, and a storage case.
