I forgot to mention that the on the roof solar panel is 140 Watts and the addtion of the Renogy 100 Watt panel may have at time overloaded the Go Power charge controller. So I ordered a new 34276119 which should be sufficient.

Based on the dimensions you stated you most likely have the Go Power PWM Solar Charge Controller with Bluetooth - LCD Digital Display - Dual Bank - 30 Amp - 12V # 34276119.
When it comes to solar charge controllers dimensions do not matter. What is most important is what amperage rating the controller has. To determine the correct rated solar charge controller for your system you'll need to divide the wattage coming in from your panels by the voltage of your battery bank and add another 25% for unexpected energy surges. Switching to a lower capacity solar charge controller is going to limit your charging capabilities and the panels will most likely overcharge your controller causing it to error out. I recommend checking the output of your panels versus the controller capacity as this could be the cause of your malfunctioning screen.
