I have great tire chain options for you. I went ahead and did some additional research on your 2021 Hyundai Kona and confirmed that the owner's manual states that they recommend using snow tires instead of tire chains. However, this is common for car manufacturers to state because they do this to avoid any liability for potential damage to the struts/components on your vehicle.
With that being said, we do have models of tire chains that provide superior traction as well as safety to avoid any potential damage to your vehicle. The chain sizes depend on if your Kona has standard tire sizes of 205/60-16, 215/55-17, or 235/45-18:
- Konig Premium Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link # TH02230K34 (for sizes 215/55-17 and 235/45-18)
- Konig Premium Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link # TH02230K33 (for size 205/60-16)
Apart from the fact that these Konig chains have self-tensioners that allow you to avoid the tedious task of tightening the chains after every trip, the chains only install on the front and outer edge of the tire. There is no part of the tire chain that installs on the interior side. This factor is crucial because it will avoid potential damage to your vehicle's components in the wheel wells. I went ahead and attached a picture that shows the interior of the tires with the # th02230k34 installed (we do not have an interior shot of the # TH02230K33, but those chains install the same way). I also confirmed with the owner's manual that tire chains should be installed on front tires only.
If you happen to have a different sized tire than these standard sizes, feel free to respond to this answer with your size, and I will be happy to recommend the best tire chains for your size.
