Question:

Gen y fifth wheel hitch to goose neck hitch will it work on A ram short bed truck. Concerns are with this adapter will it hit back of cab when making a turn

It is possible that a fifth wheel to gooseneck adapter like the Gen-Y part # GY58GR would allow you the needed turning clearance with a short bed truck but that will depend on the nose of the trailer more than anything else. More and more trailers are being made with tapered noses which allows them the needed turning clearance without needing a slider hitch or other mechanism to gain turning clearance.

So if your trailer has a tapered nose then the # GY58GR will work with a short bed truck to have enough turning clearance.
