Height Needed Between Truck Bed Rails & Gen-Y Hitch 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box GY58GR
Updated 05/02/2022 | Published 05/01/2022 >
Question:
Sirs, would this gen y torsion ball give me enough clearance from the trailer to bed rail. I have a 2019 f 350 Long bed with a 4 lift kit? I was wondering what amount of clearance is needed between and trailer to prevent any rubbing? Thanks

I can give you some guidance, but it isn't possible to tell you specifically if you have the needed clearance from the top of your bed rails to use the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # GY58GR.
What I can tell you is that the clearance needed to use the Gen-Y pin box is the same as a standard 5th wheel pin box - you want 5 to 6 inches from the top of the bed rails to the underside of the 5th wheel loft to prevent it from contacting your rails on uneven terrain. As you can see below, I have added a cut out for you of the dimensions of the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box # GY58GR.
From the bottom of the coupler to the top is 24.848 inches (ever so slightly less than 24-7/8 inches), which should give you an idea if you have the needed clearance above your bed rails.
