But I believe it is not an Igml motor. The Step Control LC379146 you recommend for Series 42 is an Igml Controller Will there be an issue with these two items working together?

In October of 2004, Kwikee began shipping steps with an integrated motor/gear box/linkage (IMGL). If yours is older than 2004 then you should use item # LC379146. The Replacement Motor for Kwikee 42 Series Electric RV Steps item # LC379167 you referenced fits step series 42. These parts will have no issue working together.
The IGML motor is Replacement Motor for Kwikee Electric RV Steps - 12V item # LC379147. The replacement module you would need is item # LC379605.
