Will The TH8591XT Extension Fit An Older Thule Canyon 859 Roof Basket?

I have been using the Thule Canyon 859 carrier basket for about 6 years. I understand that the Canyon XT is an updated model for the Canyon 859. Will this part fit my Canyon 859 carrier basket?

The way your Thule Canyon 859 and the way the Canyon XT # TH859XT connect together will actually be different, so the extension will only fit the Canyon XT, unfortunately. I created a diagram showing what I mean. You may be able to find and extension for your Canyon somewhere out there, but your best option will most likely be to upgrade to the new Canyon XT # TH859XT and then get the # TH8591XT extension to go along with it.
