Question:
I have a broken spring so am looking at this system as a quality fix and upgrade. I’m very handy with a good set of tools. 1 A service tech told me that I would need to do some welding on my frame. I don’t see any mention of welding in the videos or reviews. It looks like the hangers are bolted to user drilled holes in the frame. Correct? 2 I’m in a campground for the winter with minimal access to jacks. Can I use the camper jacks to lift the tires off the ground? 3 What issues should I consider wrt my slider hitch? I want to be sure I retain adequate clearance to the bed rails and tailgate.

The Roadmaster Comfort Ride Leaf Spring Suspension Kit w/ Shock Absorbers # RM-2460-2570 is a great choice for upgrading the suspension on your 2018 Grand Design Solitude 310GK.
You should not require any welding on the frame unless your current suspension hangers are damaged and need replaced. I have linked both an installation video and copy of the instructions below that both show no welding required.
While your Solitude does have hydraulic landing gear that will be capable of lifting the tires off the ground I highly recommend using Jack Stands # PTW41021 for safety. If the hydraulic lines were to become damaged while you are working under the trailer the jacks would retract under the weight.
You should not see any issues with your slider hitch. The hitch will last longer now that the suspension you are adding will be able to absorb most of the shock and vibration that the hitch would normally endure without the shocks.
