NOCO Genius Smart Battery Charger for Charging Two Marine Batteries Over the Winter
Updated 11/09/2021 | Published 11/07/2021 >
Question:
I have a trailer RV with two interstate RM27 88ah interstate marine batteries put in parallel 2x88=176 ah. I have solar but I have it isolated so I can charge the batteries without interference from solar. My batteries are in a metal covered battery box with batteries end to end. Here is my question: Can I and if so what size do I need. This is for over the winter setting in my driveway outside. I wanted to mount the Noco charging unit inside the metal battery box during the winter, will it be ok or will it over heat ? It isn’t totally air tight but is enclosed for protection from weather. Size ?? I’m thinking the Noco 10 which is for 230 ah I believe I am right. Thanks for the help,

Thanks for the picture! Yes, you can use the NOCO Genius Smart Battery Charger item # 329-GENIUS10 to charge your two interstate RM27 Interstate marine batteries over winter and it is the correct size for your batteries. It will lower the charging down to a maintenance level once the batteries are fully charged so that they don't end up over-charged. This type of maintenance charge will keep it topped off and very healthy for when you go to use them. The NOCO charger has an operating temperature range of -4 F to 104 F. An integrated thermal sensor detects the ambient temperature and alters the charge to eliminate over-charging in hot climates and under-charging in cold climates. I recommend mounting it closer to the opening of your battery box so it can get some air but still be covered and protected from the elements. You won't have any issues operating this charger with your solar system.
