Question:
I recently procured a stand up jet ski with a small trailer from my neighbor. Super stoked to get it to some water and have a few laughs, but I have a problem. I dont have a way to get it to the water!!!!!!!! I know I need the DT74MR hitch, but what else do I need to tow the trailer with my 2021 Hyundai Sonata? The combined weight of the trailer and the jet ski is only about 900 pounds from what I was told.

The Draw-Tite # DT74MR is definitely a good place to start when setting your 2021 Hyundai Sonata to tow your jet ski and trailer. You are correct in that you will need a few more parts to get everything connected and working properly, though.
First will be a ball mount and ball. Finding the correct one for this will depend on a few measurements, so these will be examples. To find the correct amount of drop or rise needed, you will need to measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler on the trailer. You will also need to measure from the ground to the top of the inside of the receiver once installed. The difference will tell you how much drop or rise you will need. You will then need to check the coupler as it should say which ball size it is compatible with.
With that being said, if you get a measurement that says you will need 4 inches of rise, you will need the Draw-Tite Drawbar # 3594. This is designed for use in Class 1 hitches and the pin and clip is actually included. If the coupler on the trailer is then a 1-7/8", you will need the # 19256 ball.
The last thing you will need is wiring. For this I recommend going with the Tekonsha T-One # TK97FR. Other than one wire that needs to be run up to the battery for needed power, this will be a plug and play harness that will be a quick and easy install.
