Question:

Hi there. Curious on your opinion. Wanting a BandW 5th wheel hitch RVK3700. Our toy hauler will be between 18,000-19,000lbs gvwr fully loaded. Would you recommend the hitch rated for 20,000lb or 24,000lb? Thanks VERY much

To be 100% honest, you can absolutely go with the 20k B&W Companion # BWRVK3700. With your toy hauler weighing 19,000 pounds fully loaded, it will definitely handle the weight without issues.

However, if you ever plan on getting a heavier trailer/camper, it may not be a bad idea to go with the 25k B&W Companion # BWRVK3705. This will be a little more expensive on the front end, but you will not need to purchase a new hitch if a new camper weighs more than 20k. If this isn't something you will be doing though, go with the 20k.

Either way you decide to go, I do like to suggest the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness # C56070 as a potential add on when someone is looking at 5th wheel or gooseneck hitches. This will put a 7 Way connection in the bed of a truck so you do not have to drape the trailer wiring over the tailgate making for a cleaner and easier hook up.
