Question:

I have an f250 w/ 21/2 receiver hitch. I already have the reducer sleeve to go 2 in receiver. Im towing a jayco 264 travel trailer gvw of 6000 lbs w/ tounge wgt around 550-700 lbs. I run a blue ox weight distribution hitch. Was checking to see if i can use this extension safely.

The Buyers Products Hitch Extender # 3371804015 will reduce the weight capacity of your receiver by 1/3rd of its capacity. You will need to verify your capacities on your receiver on your 2021 Ford F-250 to ensure that you are not going to exceed both the tongue weight and total trailer capacity with this extender to use it with your Jayco 264 travel trailer.

A better option may be to use an extended drop shank like the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4500. This shank will get you an extra 6" over your standard 12" long shank which is generally all that you need to clear the tailgate to open fully with a tongue jack. This will work with your Reducer Sleeve # C45405 for your 2-1/2" receiver on your F-250.
