Published 10/23/2021 >
Question:
have a F350 long bed , gooseneck ball is stuck and ball at neck was cut off, so just free spins um gooseneck ball hole is covered on bottom so no access to pound/press out like i was told or lube from bottom . think Im down to just cutting till Im able to see the pin/bar or however the curt ball is designed which is bad for it causing this much trouble and lot of other words, never going to buy curt after Im done cutting this down to the bed being able to reach into the ball to spin whats keeping the ball bearing out would be cool , i just saying i think those items need to be redesigned for if it does break you can remove them

You should be able to spray some WD40 or brake fluid down the exposed pin, let it sit for 10 minutes then using some vice grips you should be able to pull up on the pin to release it.
If this doesn't work I would give it some suggestive "taps" with a 5 pound hammer. Making sure to be very liberal with the brake fluid.
Last resort you can heat it up with a blow torch, this will cause the metal to expand and potentially break loose anything binding up inside. Let it cool down then restart the process from step one.
For a replacement I strongly recommend the B&W Ball and Safety Chain Kit for Ford, GM, and Nissan Titan Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNXA2061. It is very easy to install and remove. I like that all the metal parts are either stainless steel or plated to resist corrosion and it comes with a rubber cover to keep the insert point clean while not in use.
