Recommended Replacement for Valley Industries 2-Speed 2,800 lb Winch

Question:
I’m replacing a 2800 lb Valley 2 speed on ez loader carrying 25’ farallón around 12,000lbs Cable or strap ? And what winch has the best brake?

The 2-Speed Boat Trailer Winch part # 315-W3200D would be an excellent option to replace a Valley Industries 2-Speed 2,800 lb Winch. It will hold a slightly higher weight capacity at 3,200 lbs and retains the two speed operation. It also comes with an integrated strap and clevis hook so it's ready to go. You can always switch out for a cable if you wish but straps are better for boats. The winch does have a brake that self locks the crank while not in motion.
