Question:

We have a 2018 Chevy Spark and would like to carry our 2 electric bikes on the back of it. They each weigh about 50 pounds. What hitch would you recommend? Also, do you have bike racks and if so, what bike racks would you recommend to go with the hitch? Thanks

I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11433 for your 2018 Chevrolet Spark. With this Curt Receiver you will need to use their Stabilizing Straps # 18050 when you are using any hitch mounted accessory like a bike rack that you are looking to install.

The Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118694 will provide you with a 4-way connector on your Spark. This will allow for you to use Auxiliary Lights # C53201 on your bike rack since the bikes will impair the view of your tail lights on your Spark.

The bike rack you need will depend on how your bikes can be secured.

For bikes with fenders I recommend the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack # TH903202 as this holds the bikes on the carrier with a frame mount. It is rated to carry 2 bikes up to 65lbs and with a frame tube up to 3-1/2" in diameter. This rack is also designed to fit your class I receiver that your Spark uses but also includes an adapter that can fit 2" receivers as well.

If your bikes don't have fenders the Kuat NV 2.0 Base 2-Bike Platform Rack # BA12B is the rack I recommend. This rack will secure the bikes with a wheel mount that fits wheels from 25" to 29" in diameter. The rack is rated for 2 bikes up to 60lbs each.
