I have a different product that may help you as the CE Smith Galvanized Steel Step # CE26212G at 3" wide is the widest that CE Smith makes.
The HitchMate Boat Trailer Step # HE4036 has a 9" long by 5" wide step pad. It also uses a non-slip step surface to reduce the risk of sliding off the step. This step will bolt to trailer frames up to 3" wide and 5" tall.
