Can Yakima Axe/Shovel Bracket be Used to Carry Fishing Rods

For part #Y07078, can you secure other accessories like a pair of fishing rods and others that will fit inside the clamp, or is it strictly for axes/shovels?

While the Yakima Bracket # Y07078 is designed around axes/shovels, I don't see any reason why you can't carry other accessories as long as you're able to make sure they are secured properly.
One thing to think about though is that fishing rods can be a little delicate so at the very least I would add some sort of padding inside these brackets to help maintain their integrity.
We do have some fishing rod holders like the SeaSucker # 302-5061 as well as some roof rack mounting options you can find on the linked page if you'd like something that is geared a little more towards fishing rods.
