Question:

Hello, I just purchased a KBO Step-Through Breeze ebike. Still putting it together and realized I need to figure out a rack. It is SO heavy! I dont know that I can lift it up by myself to hang it on a regular rack, so I was looking at this Yakima rack with a ramp. I dont have a hitch on my Kia Soul yet. What kind do I buy and do I take it to a mechanic to install or a bike shop? So unfamiliar with this process! Please advise on what system you recommend for the KBO Step-Through and a 2017 Kia Soul.

For your 2017 Kia Soul we will begin with the receiver. I recommend the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7326. This receiver give you a 2" receiver which will give you a better selection on bike racks to choose from. I have linked an installation video below for you to reference as we had a 2017 Soul in our shop to demonstrate this installation. We also have a link on our product page just below our pictures that will help you locate a shop where you can have the hitch installed.

I recommend the Thule Epos Bike Rack # TH99XE for carrying your KBO Step-Through Breeze e-bike. This rack is capable of hauling 2 e-bikes that weigh up to 70lbs each and with your Breeze weighing 62lbs it comes in just under the weight limit. The frame mount will connect to the seat post since you have a step through frame with fenders front and rear.

Lastly you will want to also install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118637 so that you can install a set of Auxiliary Lights # C53201 on the bike rack. These lights will give other drivers additional lights that they will be able to clearly see as your tail lights will be partially blocked from the bike when loaded. The same shop that installs the hitch should also be able to install the wiring harness for you.
