If you cannot access the pin terminals inside your 7-way trailer connector, you can simply cut the wires at the back of the plug. I would actually recommend cutting off the old plug if the plug has a lot of dirt and corrosion. Often times, dirt and corrosion can make its way into the 7-way plug and begin to corrode the wires. By cutting off the plug, you will have clean wires to attach to the new 7-way plug.
