Recommended Tires For A 2005 Fleetwood Bayside Pop-Up Camper With GVWR of 3770lbs

Updated 09/30/2021 | Published 09/29/2021

Question:

My son just purchased a used 2005 Fleetwood Bayside pop-up camper. The existing tires are Ironman ST185/80r13. Since one tire recently came apart on roadway and the previous owner didn’t know age of tires, I suggest he replace both tires. The Coleman Manual shows GVRW 3770 lbs UVW - 2600 lbs Is this considered Load capacity “D” and is it sufficient for this trailer/camper?

The highest rated 185/80R13 tire is the Kenda Karrier ST185/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # AM10208 which has a load rating of 1710lbs at 65 PSI. Since your 2005 Fleetwood Bayside Pop-Up Camper has two tires this would get you a combined load rating of 3420lbs.

This is under the 3770lbs GVWR of the trailer but since you should have between 377-565 of tongue weight the tires should only be carrying 3393-3205lbs if the trailer is loaded all of the way, which they are typically not, thus making them rated perfectly for the trailer.

I included a video of the # AM10208 for you to take a look at.
