Question:

slide out topper on 2012 Keystone Cougar 27sab Can a solar slide out topper be installed on this 5th wheel camper over the slide out and would it affect the proper operation of the slide out? Is it recommended to add the topper?

Yes, you can add a Solera RV Slide-Out Awning such as the, # LCV000163287 to your 2012 Keystone Cougar 5th wheel RV.

For determining the proper size Solera Slider you need, measure the total width of your slide room from the outside including the flange then add about 5" (2-1/2" each for the left/right side overhang). You can have greater than 2-1/2" overhang if you want, but it is suggested that you do not go any less than 2 to 2-1/2". It is recommended to have at least a 3" slope to it when mounted for run-off. I suggest having a topper over every slide-out, this helps to protect from water and debris settling on the top of slide.
