Question:

Good evening, I’m wondering if you could help me find a older Featherlite trailer door latch. The cut out in the door is 5 1/8 wide 4 3/4 high Any information would be great. I can’t seem to find this door latch anywhere

The closest door latch we will have is the Redline Full Size Locking Steel Flush Door Latch # L3980. However, this will fit a 3-3/8" x 4-5/8" cut out and will measure 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" so it will end up being too small for your door.

Unfortunately, the only way we could get you a door latch will require modification or replacement of your current door.

You may be able to contact Featherlite to see if they have a direct replacement. You should just need the VIN of your trailer and they should be able to get you helped out.

I'm looking for a replacement to the exact same door latch assembly as your picture. Where can I purchase a new door assembly as in your picture.

@DanielB This was asked about 3 years ago so we do have an option that is better than the Redline Full Size Locking Steel Flush Door Latch # L3980. With that said, the Bauer # BA28UR is a possible option. It will fit a 4-1/2" x 5-1/2" cut out so it isn't a perfect fit and you will probably have to do a little framing to make it fit properly. Your best option will still be getting in contact with Featherlite to see if they can recommend a direct replacement. Just as a side note, the pictures were sent in with the original question and I do not know what part number they are due to this.

@LazerS Thanks, I ordered the Bauer as a possible solution. It looks like it will fit and the dimensions appear to be correct. The customer comments and pictures provided were what sold be to give this a try. Thanks for the reply. I also contacted Featherlite and they are researching for possible solutions.
