Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Carrier And Receiver For a 2019 Chrysler 300S E-Bike Weighing 70LBS

Updated 09/30/2021 | Published 09/27/2021

Question:

Hi I watched the installation videos, read the tech tips for this hitch. My car is a 2019 Chrysler 300S and on the other hitches you list for my car I saw comments about removing underpanels and also difficuly if exhaust tips are welded etc. Is this hitch easier to install on my car? Installation tips say: Installation requires the driver side muffler to be removed and reattached. No drilling required for installation , Exhaust must be temporarily lowered for installation. Install time about 1 hour 10 minutes. This does not sound too bad. Just wondered if same thing applies to my 300S model. I dont know if my exhaust tips are welded perhaps you might know. I will have this installed by a professional if you can recommend any near zip code 34472 Ocala Florida and approximate cost to install? I finally found a single fat tire ebike rack that has capacity of 75 pounds, rack weighs 26 pounds and my ebike weighs 68 so should be okay with my vehicles 100 pound tongue weight maximum. Distance from bottom of my rear bumper is 11 inches, it looks like the bottom of the 2 inch receiver on this hitch is about 3 inches below bumper when installed guessing from photos Thanks for your help!

For your 2019 Chrysler 300S you will need to check your specific vehicle to determine if your drivers side muffler can be removed. I was unable to find a direct answer from Chrysler as to if this was model year or trim specific. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13093 does recommend removing the drivers side muffler to install it but like the other receivers if you have a welded on muffler you can remove the rear fascia to install the receiver.

We have added a new feature to our website that will allow you to search for installers near your zip code. There is a link to search for installers just below the installation videos.

For a bike rack I recommend the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack # HLY64FR. This rack will hold 2 e-bikes that weigh up to 80lbs per bike. It will fit into the 2" receiver that the Curt receiver has and has a rise built into the rack to give you better ground clearance while not needing a separate adapter.

Plan on installing a Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118658 with your receiver. This way you will be able to use a set of Auxiliary Lights # C53201 with your bike rack as your bike will likely block the view of your tail lights on your Chrysler.
