Question:

The shank that came with the Traveler XC2 has the threaded pin hole in the shank to work with the 5th wheel bumper mount. But it obviously doesnt work in the standard 2inch receiver on my truck. Id like to use the rack on both vehicles and would need the same shank without the threaded pin hole to mount the bike rack on my truck. Am I reading right that there isnt a shank like that available?

The Swagman Traveler XC2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches or RV Bumpers # S64663 is designed to work with the 2" receiver on your truck as well as the included RV bumper mount receiver so you should have no problems using the threaded hitch pin on your truck's receiver. It sounds like either the threads on the hitch pin are stripped or the hitch pin hole on your truck's receiver is too far back for the shank of the bike rack. If you could provide some pictures and additional details of your issue we could further troubleshoot it.

If the threads are stripped you can replace the the hitch pin with # P5901.
