Does The Speedometer On a 2018 Ford F-150 Continue to Add Mileage When Flat Towing?

Question:

Bought a used 2018 Ford F150, which had more miles on it than the condition would indicate not a scratch on it, interior pristine, yet it had almost 90k It appears to have been set up with equipment on the front to allow it to be towed behind a motorhome. Would that account for the mileage discrepancy? Might it have been driven fewer miles than that?

Your 2018 Ford F-150 has an electric speedometer and should not record mileage if the ignition is off.

That said if they used a braking system like the Brake Buddy Select 3 # HM39524 that requires power to the 12 volt outlet and they did not install a separate outlet for it then at that point they would have been leaving the ignition on to power the brake controller.
