Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Where Lights Don't Work on Left Side of Trailer
Published 09/21/2021 >
Question:
Why is it that I only have right turn signal right brake lights and right flashers on my trailer all my lights are working except for the turn signal brake light and flashes on the left side of my trailer. I replaced the tail light and the brake/turn/flasher, flashed twice then quit. The LH running light is working properly, but the flasher/turn/brake is not. Any ideas why this happening.

It's probably the ground of the taillights on the left side of the trailer. Check to make sure the ground wire is making a solid connection or if the assemblies ground through the hardware make sure the hardware is connected to a clean metal surface. Sometimes using a jumper wire from the ground to the main ground wire of the trailer wiring can fix the issue.
