Will Blue Ox Patriot Apply Towed Vehicle Brakes Automatically When Going Down Steep Hill?

Question:

When going down a grade,say7, will the brake sense the downhill force and apply the brake,even without brakes being applied or just the use of the engine brake.

The Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR you mentioned will not sense the downhill force and apply the brakes in your towed vehicle, as it only applies the brakes proportionally to how you apply the brakes in your tow vehicle.

If when going down the hill you slightly press the brakes then the brakes of your tow vehicle will be slightly pressed, but if you do not touch the brake pedal the brakes will not get applied. You can however hit the manual override button in the motorhome to go ahead and apply the towed vehicle brakes if needed.
