Question:
Looking to Purchase a 2017 Audi Q7 that does not have a factory hitch installed. Do you have a harness that offers 5 pin. My trailer has surge brakes and I pretty sure it needs the 5th pin to release the brakes when reversing. Please let me know my options. Thanks

Hi, if there is no hitch installed on your 2017 Audi Q7 I suggest the Curt Class III Receiver Hitch # C13277. It has a 700 pound tongue weight and a 7000 pound towing weight.
The harnesses we have for this Audi all have powered converter boxes. This is to protect the vehicle's wiring and also keep the trailer from drawing to much of the vehicle's power. I would use the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT paired with the Curt Trailer Connector Adapter # C57187. These parts combined will give you the 5-way connection you need.
If you will be near or in and out of water with the trailer and vehicle I would suggest the Dielectric Grease for Electrical Connectors. # 11755. It sheds what and helps prevent corrosion and damage to connections due to moister and water exposure. I would also make sure to disconnect the 5-way prior to backing the boat into the water and safely secure it to prevent damage.
