It sounds like you're referring to the dimensions of the round receptacle for the 7 way connector on the CR Brophy Replacement 7-Pole, Trailer Connector Socket - Vehicle End # R7CB, which is roughly 2" in diameter. You'll need to cut a hole in the truck bed or bumper to mount this connector socket.
