With there being 3 standard size balls used to tow a trailer, you can simply measure for 2 of them Those being a 2 inch coupler that attaches to something like the Curt 2" Hitch Ball - 1-1/4" Diameter x 2-5/8" Long Shank # A-90, or a 2-5/16 inch one that will attach to the 2-5/16" Hitch Ball - 1-1/4" Diameter x 2-5/8" Long Shank # A-6.
The one that throws a wrench in the this is the 1-7/8 inch ball, like the Curt # A-80. With it being so close to 2 inches, it will definitely make differentiating between them difficult. The best way to tell will be to see if you can borrow all 3 sizes from someone to see which will lock into the coupler properly.
