How To Setup Curt MV Weight Distribution System with Suspension Enhancements
Published 09/10/2021 >
Question:
How would I adjust the head washers for my tow vehicle that has adjustable Rear leaf spring helper, and/or would I need the leaf spring helper with this Curt C17062 system? When I tow any trailer I would adjust my truck rear leaf spring helper to 1500 lbs and with no trailer hook up I would adjust them to 500lbs or take them off.

In regards to setting up a weight distribution system like the Curt MV Weight Distribution System part # C17062, it is advised that you make any adjustments needed to the tow vehicles suspension first and then set the head tilt or spring bar tension on the weight distribution system.
I can't speak to every type of system such as the adjustable leaf springs you have but if you were using air bags for example, you would attach the trailer and then adjust the psi until you're as close to level as possible. Then, you would go through the setup procedure outlined in the owner's manual for the weight distribution system.
