Recommended Roof Rack For 2016 Honda Odyssey To Carry 103lb Hobie Kayak

Just purchased a Hobie Outback. Fitted hull weight 85 pounds Fully rigged 103 pounds I have a 2016 Honda Odessey no roof racks So I need a rack I’m 72 and not so strong so thought I could do a assisted with a winch but I can get that done later. Thanks so much for your help.

Congratulations on the new kayak!
For your 2016 Honda Odyssey I recommend the Thule Roof Rack System using 60" Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711520, and Evo Raised Rail Feet # TH710401 if your vehicles has the factory raised side rails running front to back. If it has a bare roof you will need the 53" Thule Crossbars # TH711420, Thule Top Track Mounting System # THTP42, Rapid Podium Feet # TH460R, and Fit Kit # THKIT3101.
Both of these kits have a 165lb weight capacity which is plenty for your 103lb Kayak, but you will need to verify the weight rating of your roof to make sure you will not be overloading it.
For a kayak carrier I recommend taking a look at the etrailer J-Style Carrier # e98878 which has a 150lb weight capacity, and will fit the above crossbars perfectly. If your garage allows you to store the Kayak on the ceiling then the Malone Kayak Hammock Hoist # MPG346 would be a great option as it allows you to easily load and unload the kayak from the roof of your vehicle.
I will say with the weight of your kayak and you being worried about putting it on the roof you would have a much easier time with a trailer like the Malone EcoLight Sport Trailer with J-Style Carriers for 2 Kayaks # MAL93FR would be a much easier option as you would not have to pick up the kayak much to get it loaded.
