Approximate Lifespan of Batteries Used on Trailer Valet TRRVR9 Remote Control Trailer Dolly
Published 09/09/2021 >
Question:
1. My RV trailer has electric brakes. I read that if the trailer has brakes we are to contact you for information. Since the brakes are electric and only operate when connected to the tow vehicle I assume there would not be a problem. Is my assumption correct? 2. How long will the batteries last if they are conditioned periodically as per the users manual? Are replacement batteries available? The trailer will be moved in and out about 3-4 times/year. 3. Are replacement parts available, such as the treads?

The only trailer brake related concern for the Trailer Valet # TVRVR9 Remote Control Trailer Dolly would be if your trailer had a surge hydraulic coupler. Since your trailer has electric brakes, there won't be a problem.
According to my contact at Trailer Valet, it's extremely difficult to predict how long the batteries will last because there are so many variables involved including the weight of the trailer, how often the dolly is used, how well the batteries are cared for, etc. My Trailer Valet rep did tell me that he's been there for almost 2 years, and he's only seen one instance where the batteries needed replacement.
Replacement batteries are available, but since they're internal batteries you'd need to ship the trailer dolly to Trailer Valet and have them replace them. Given your 3-4 times usage per year, you could reasonably expect several years of trouble-free service from the # TVRVR9 dolly.
