Question:
I unhooked my trailer and then the next day I could hear a buzzing noise under my trailer. I got to looking around the the break booster was running none stop and was extremely over hot. I cut the three wires that is going to the HBA-CAM 381-7063 to keep from burning things up. Do you know what causes this problem?

I spoke to a contact at Hydrastar, he told that it sounds to him like the the brake-away switch on the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Adapter Module for Ford and Chevy Brake Controllers # HBA-CAM got pulled when you unhooked your trailer. If the brake-away switch stays in the pulled position for an extended amount of time it will do just as yours did; it will buzz and get hot. He said you should be able to wire it back up and it should work fine. If you do notice any clicking or buzzing, then it's possible you have a faulty switch.
