Are There Pre-Drilled Holes In Dash On Infiniti QX80 for Trailer Brake Controller
Updated 09/08/2021 | Published 09/06/2021 >
Question:
Hi! So I have asked a question on another product, but my specific question about this one is: will it be able to mount using what looks like to be a pre-fabricated mounting space on my Wifes 2018 Infinity QX80? See the picture attached. I would rather not have to drill any holes and just use the holes provided in the pic that are directly under the dash on the right side of the steering wheel. Also, I noticed that this is not compatible with hydraulic brakes. Is this necessary? We are looking at maybe purchasing a Travel Trailer and I dont really know what most travel trailers require. Is there an option like this that would have electric and hydraulic capability? Thanks in advance!

I do have some great brake controller options for a 2018 Infiniti QX80 but there aren't any pre-drilled holes or slots in the dash on this vehicle for this purpose. If you don't want to drill into the dash then I recommend the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 which simply mounts outside the vehicle and is then controlled with a mobile device. It does not require any splicing or drilling into the dash therefore there will be no modifications needed.
It works with both electric (most common) and electric over hydraulic brakes (rare).
