We bought a tomato and I set tires at 80 psi. Is is showing between 85 and 87 now, we are driving, , when are tires to hot or too full ?

Expert Reply:
Heat can affect your tires, in general, tires gain or lose 1 PSI for every 10 degrees change in temperatures. Theoretically your tires could inflate up to 2 PSI after a day of driving if the temperature rises 20 degrees. Since you mentioned the PSI increase was after you were driving I do not think it was overinflated.
You could use a TPMS system like # TST-507-RV-4-C to monitor your tire pressure levels. You'll want to keep the high temperature alarm setting of 158 degrees set. The alarm should be set for 20-25% over your normal tire pressure, and the low pressure alarm to be 10% below normal.
