Question:

Would you recommend a fixed fifth wheel hitch for 2021 chevy 2500hd standard box. My understanding is that the pucks are moved 2inch in back of the axle. Thanks in advance

For your 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 6-3/4' bed with OEM Prep Package I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package - Dual Jaw - 20K # BWRVK3775. The center of the hitch head where the king pin attaches needs to be on the centerline of the rear axle to even distribute the weight of the 5th wheel. Even if the hitch was moved back 2" you wouldn't get much extra turning clearance so a sliding hitch like the # BWRVK3775 which has 12" of movement is recommended in a 6-3/4' bed.

The rail-free design allows for full access to truck bed when hitch is removed and cam-action latching handle helps prevent binding. The fully articulating head eases hookup and helps to limit chucking and this hitch has 3 height settings to fit your application.
