What Might Cause RV Tread Lite Steps to be Stuck in Open Position

Can you get the tread lite electric step in so you can drive?

It could be the sensors on the door of your RV that's either failed or fallen off. You might check there to verify that the magnets are there and working properly. These sensors basically are what tells the steps your door is open or closed and needs to retract or extend. Since the step is stuck in the out position and the magnets being near each other is what tells the steps to retract it's very possible your magnets aren't getting close to each other for some reason.
