Question:

1. Does the Dutton-Lainson boat winch 1500lb come with a strap or wire rope? 2. If it doesn’t a how much is the nylon strap and b do I have to install the strap and c what is required to install the strap. d would you install the strap? Obviously I’d prefer the strap over a wire rope Thanks

The Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch w/ Automatic Brake - TUFFPLATE Finish # DL14964 you were looking at does NOT include a strap or a wire cable.

Since you prefer a strap I recommend going with the 2" Wide x 25' Long Hand Winch Strap # DL24249 which will fit in the drum perfectly. For the most up-to-date pricing information please use the included link to be taken to the product page.

You will need to install the strap as that is not something we are able to do before shipping the products, but there is nothing other than the winch and strap needed to get it installed.

Installing the strap is very easy, you will use the bolt included with the # DL24249 to go through the oblong hole in the drum, and then through the loop at the end of the strap. Tighten up the nut and you are in business!
