Published 08/13/2021 >
Question:
Its mounted on our LQ horsetrailer and wife at show now, AC doesnt work, just cycling. I thought start capacitor might be issue since she smelled hot electrical. Currently shutoff. Does the soft start system replace the start capacitor?

Expert Reply:
The SoftStartRV Soft Start for RV AC Units # SSR54FR does have a built-in start capacitor. It installs between the run capacitor and the compressor. This is a likely part that could be causing the issues you described, however, it could also possibly be your main capacitor. I attached a demonstration video for you.
