Yes I see u recommend an ecohitch for easiest install which is considerably more money than the etrailer hitch. Does that mean the etrailer hitch would be difficult? I was planning on ordering the etrailer hitch today with connector C76CR since the vehicle does not have a factory tow package. Thk u. I will order as soon as I get a response

The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e75ZR is rated 5 out of 10 for installation difficulty, which is the same as the EcoHitch # EH35VR. They both offer hidden crosstubes for a clean look. I actually prefer the etrailer hitch # e75ZR over the EcoHitch because I like that the receiver tube is matte black so that the part that does show, blends in better than the glossy finish of the other hitches. The etrailer hitch has a 500lbs tongue weight and 5,000lb trailer weight ratings, while the EcoHitch has a higher tongue weight capacity of 750 pounds. Be sure to verify your maximum weight ratings with your Toyota dealer. Since the hitches could have a higher rating than your Highlander, the higher tongue weight capacity may not matter at all.

I recommend using the Curt Easy Mount Bracket # C58001 to secure the 4-way of the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C76CR to your Highlander.
