Question:

I just bought the new Subaru outback wilderness edition, and the only cross bars I am able to order from Subaru are the Thule aero extended ones. The kayak rack I want to purchase, however, is the Malone downloader. I saw that there is a component that can be purchased to make the downloader compatible with the Thule airblade crossbars, but what about the arrow extended crossbars? Will that same component work in this situation?

The Malone DownLoader Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs - J-Style # MPG114MD should fit your Subaru/Thule crossbars without an issue. But to verify, this carrier fits the Malone crossbars which measure 3-1/16" wide and 1" tall so if your crossbars are within these specs then it will fit for sure. If the crossbars on your Subaru happen to be larger then you can simply use T-Slot Adapter # MPG8287 to install the carrier into your crossbar's T-slot channel.
