Question:
The manual shows a place to attach safety chains to base plate but I dont see them on my baseplate 118-8. Also do I have these small safety chains correct?

With the Roadmaster base plate kit part # 118-8 you actually will want to connect the safety cables like part # RM-643 to the frame of the vehicle so that in case of a problem with the base plate the cable would bypass that and connect to the frame and still be able to grab something. So look on the frame for an opening that you could snag the hook of the chain onto.
