Can MORrude Rubber Equalizers MR87ZR Be Used On Trailer With 6000lb Axles?
Published 07/22/2021 >
Question:
Will the morride 3500 work for 6000lb axles? It says 8000, is this just the max? How much will this raise trailer height?

Expert Reply:
You are correct that the 8000lb rating that the MORryde Rubber Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers - 33" Wheelbase - 8K # MR87ZR has is the maximum axle rating, and they would work perfectly with your 6000lb axles.
Now to determine if these equalizers will fit you will need to compare them to your current equalizers. You will need to measure center to center of the two horizontal mounting holes, and then from the center line of the horizontal holes to the center of the upper mounting hole.
For example the # MR87ZR measures 6-1/2" center to center of the horizonal mounting holes, and 3-1/8" from the centerline of the horizontal mounting holes to the center of the upper mounting hole as shown in the included diagram.
If this matches your current equalizer this would be a great replacement option. If you find you have a different sized equalizer just let me know.
Equalizers really don't lift a trailer unless the mounting hole height is very different, but even then it would be a very minor lift.
I included a video of the # MR87ZR for you to take a look at.
