Question:
Im trying to help a neighbor with her 2020 Chevy Transverse . She wants to tow a 1997 Jayco camper with a weight of 3,000lbs.. Im thinking the tongue weight is 900lbs as an estimate. She has a trailer package and the upgraded V6 engine. First question.. How can I find out if she has a brake control for the brakes , I dont see one..and which weight distribution hitch round bar preferred will she need? She requested the WDH. Please supply the links so I can have her order what she needs. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

A 2020 Chevy Traverse wouldn't have came from the factory with a brake controller so if the vehicle had one it would be attached to the lower dash panel and the owner would have had to have it installed. So most likely they'd know if they did and if they didn't know anything about it the answer would be it doesn't have one.
An easy solution for that would be the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180 which plugs into an active 7-way and once synced to a smart phone is ready to tow with.
Now for weight distribution I'd think that a tongue weight of 900 lbs would be really high for a 3,000 lb trailer so I'd verify that. Normally a 3,000 lb trailer would have a 300 lb to 450 lb tongue weight so a system like the part # RP66082 would be a really great option as it has a tongue weight range of 200-600 lbs and features best sway control at preventing sway before it starts.
