Question:

I have a Bulldog trailer jack on a small squareinch trailer that we just acquired. I would like to replace the footplate with a caster such as Bulldog Removable, 6inch Poly Caster Assembly for 2inch Jack Tube - 1,200 lbs Item # BD500245 Is is as simple as slicing off the footplate and then drilling a mounting hole for the caster? Seems pretty straightforward to me, but Ive never done it before so I thought I would ask. Attached is a picture of the label on my jack. Thanks

I have a replacement jack option for you, but I do not recommend cutting off the footplate and drilling a hole in the tube to mount a caster like the Removable 6" Caster for 2-1/4" Trailer Jacks - Steel Caster - 1,200 lbs
Item # JC-102 to your Bulldog 158151 as it would void any warranty on the jack.

Instead I recommend replacing it with the Bulldog Round, Pipe-Mount Swivel Jack - Sidewind - 10" Lift - 2,000 lbs # BD1541150301 which will fit the same mount as current jack and is already drilled for the # JC-102. Keep in mind using the caster will reduce the weight capacity of the jack to 1200lbs.
